Job summary

TEC Partners - Technical Recruitment Specialists in Great Yarmouth is recruiting a mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer for an established engineering manufacturer supplying safety-critical equipment to oil & gas and marine sectors.

The role involves working with the R&D team to design and develop new and existing products from concept to detailed designs ready for manufacture.You will produce 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings in SolidWorks, drive design reviews, prototyping and testing, and

Qualifications

• Degree, HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proven mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer experience.
• Experience in oil & gas or subsea would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models, assemblies and detailed 2D drawings in SolidWorks.
• Collaborate with R&D to develop new concepts and improve existing designs.
• Ensure designs meet technical specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support design reviews, prototyping and testing activities.
• Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control.

The Role:

As a mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll work closely with the R&D team to design and develop new and existing products, taking concepts through to detailed designs ready for manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce 3D models, assemblies and detailed 2D drawings in SolidWorks
• Work alongside the R&D team to develop new product concepts and improve existing designs
• Ensure designs meet technical specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Support design reviews, prototyping and testing activities
• Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control

What you’ll bring:

• Degree, HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer at mid-level
• Experience in oil & gas or subsea would be a strong advantage
• Experience with hydraulic or large-scale mechanical systems would be beneficial
• Good attention to detail and a structured approach to your work
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to travel reliably to the Great Yarmouth site
