Salary: up to £43,000 DOE + 10% Bonus

Trading as emap for its B2B division, Metropolis International is a fast-growing, privately owned media group with over £50m annual revenue, structured into two divisions – consumer media and B2B media. We produce print magazines, digital content, and host face-to-face and virtual awards, conferences, and events. We are also exploring acquisitions of media businesses. Our team of over 480 employees is based in Croydon, Fleet Street, Devon, and Dublin.

Overall Purpose of the Role

Join us as a Subscription Marketing Manager to lead growth and engagement for our brand within emap's Emerald Division. If you're an experienced marketer thriving in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you! You will work on Property Week, the UK’s leading property magazine, applying your expertise in subscription and content marketing—social media, email, web, SEO, and paid ads—to meet subscription and engagement targets. You will collaborate with the marketing team to support participation in events, trade fairs, lead generation campaigns, and client solutions.

Key Requirements

  • Extensive experience with B2B media including subscription/membership models.
  • Understanding of subscription revenue, retention, acquisition, and engagement models, with the ability to analyze metrics and generate insights.
  • Knowledge of subscriber behavioral patterns and motivations.
  • Hands-on experience in social media, email, web, SEO, paid ads.
  • Good understanding of marketing design and content best practices.
  • Advanced reporting, analysis, and planning skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, CRM systems, ESPs, GA4, analytics, and marketing automation tools.
  • Experience with CMS and data manipulation.
  • Strong project management skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with paid advertising platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads), UX, SEO, and digital/offline channels.
  • Proficiency in design, video, and marketing automation tools.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, sound judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Proactive, resourceful, results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

Desirable

  • Experience with multiple titles, stakeholders, and deadlines.
  • Experience with Adestra, Hootsuite, Wordpress, Canva, Abacus Advance, and task management systems (Asana, Monday.com).

Responsibilities

  • Brand Strategy: Develop and execute marketing plans to grow subscriber numbers and market share; analyze and optimize acquisition, engagement, retention; monitor competitors and implement best-in-class campaigns.
  • Budgeting and Efficiency: Manage budgets, ensure compliance and conduct audits.
  • Partnerships and Relationships: Build internal and external relationships, negotiate deals, collaborate across departments for consistent branding.
  • Data Management and Analysis: Use systems for targeted campaigns, track performance via analytics tools, generate reports, and improve data strategies.
  • Sales Support: Create sales materials, assist in lead generation, collaborate on campaigns to attract subscribers, advertisers, and clients.
  • Content Creation: Support content projects, review artwork and collateral.
  • Digital Marketing: Manage subscription websites, social media, newsletters, and email marketing; develop content calendars.
  • Event Planning and Support: Support event logistics, including occasional travel, research, and reporting.
