Job summary

Rullion is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for submarine dockside work in Wolverhampton and Dockside. The role involves carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on submarine systems within a highly regulated defence environment, ensuring safety and quality standards.

You will read engineering drawings, diagnose faults, overhaul components, and document activities while complying with health and environmental regulations. Occasional overtime and shift work may be required.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Experience in heavy engineering, marine, defence, nuclear, or industrial settings.
• Experience maintaining rotating equipment, pumps and valves.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience with mechanical measuring equipment and fault-finding.
• Safety procedures and permit-to-work knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on submarine systems.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical faults using drawings.
• Remove, overhaul, reinstall pumps, valves and rotating equipment.
• Perform mechanical testing and document completion reports.
• Maintain safe working practices and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to meet schedules.
