Job Description:

Corfe Hills School is looking for a Subject Leader for Key Stage 5 Mathematics to join our team. Could this be you?

Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (M1 to M6/ UP3)

An additional TLR 2.2 is offered for the role.

This is a full-time position; part-time considered (hours to be discussed at interview).

It is offered on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate professional duties similar to classroom teachers (see Class Teacher job description) and will also:

• Develop and implement strategic plans for mathematics in line with the school’s commitment to high-quality teaching and learning
• Promote the subject and its importance across the school
• Monitor and evaluate how well the subject is being delivered and its impact on student achievement; use this to inform the school development plan and create subject development plans
• Collaborate with the SENCO to ensure the curriculum meets all students' needs
• Promote careers education through the subject, illustrating potential career pathways
• Utilize additional staff effectively to ensure proper deployment and support

The Subject Leader for KS5 Mathematics will also:

• Provide leadership and management for KS5 Mathematics to ensure:
• High-quality teaching based on CHS Principles of Teaching
• Effective resource use
• Improved student standards and achievement

Skills required include:

• Ability to adapt teaching to support diverse learners
• Motivate students using various skills
• Assess students effectively, use AfL strategies, and plan accordingly
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour and implement strategies to support this

Experience in teaching KS5 is preferred.

A valid driving license and own transport are essential for travel across the Trust’s sites.
