Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking an experienced Sub Agent for the NZT Project based in Newcastle to help deliver a major civil engineering scheme. You will support the Project Manager and Agent, taking ownership of sections of work and ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sub Agent or similar on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and project delivery.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work activities.
• Awareness of NEC contracts and related compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive approach with ability to motivate teams and deliver results.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day site operations and coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour.
• Planning and delivering works in accordance with programme requirements.
• Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance.
• Monitoring progress, identifying risks and implementing solutions to keep works on track.
• Managing quality assurance processes and ensuring works comply with project specifications.
• Preparing and reviewing RAMS, permits and construction documentation.
• Supporting commercial activities including cost control, change management and procurement.
• Building strong relationships with clients, designers, stakeholders and the wider project team.
