Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in Colchester is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join our Regional Civils team, supporting delivery of high-quality civil engineering projects across the region. You will work closely with the Site Agent, Project Manager, engineers and subcontractors to ensure safety, quality and programme adherence.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering background (BSc/HNC) and proven site-management experience, with CSCS and SMSTS qualifications.

Qualifications

Previous experience as Sub Agent, Site Agent or Senior Site Engineer in civil engineering.
BSc/HNC in Civil Engineering.
Experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, programmes and site management.
Experience managing site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
Good knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
Relevant CSCS and SMSTS qualifications.

Responsibilities

Support the Site Agent and Project Manager in planning and delivery of construction activities.
Take responsibility for managing sections of work from planning through to completion.
Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
Ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme, budget, quality and health and safety requirements.
Review drawings, specifications and programmes to ensure correct delivery.
Monitor progress against programme and identify delays or issues.
Work with engineers to ensure setting out, technical requirements and methods are understood.
