Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of VolkerWessels UK, seeks a Sub Agent to drive delivery of a major National Grid substation project. You will lead engineers and partners to deliver complex civil, structural, and electrical interface works safely and on budget.

The ideal candidate has a Civil/Construction management qualification, proven sub-agent experience, and relevant safety certifications. The role emphasises programme leadership, coordination of RAMS/ITPs, and strong stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Sub Agent, Senior Engineer or similar role within major infrastructure, utilities or energy projects.
• SMSTS certification and CSCS/EUSR CSCS card; Temporary Works Supervisor competence and First Aid at Work.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers, supervisors and supply chain partners to deliver civil, structural and electrical interface works to programme, budget and quality.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Site Agent to manage work packages and ensure safe delivery.
• Develop and manage RAMS, ITPs and subcontractor performance, including change control.
• Assist in planning and coordinating site activities to meet milestones and client requirements.
