Job summary

Aureos is seeking a Sub Agent to lead engineering teams on the Howden Relief Road project for East Riding of Yorkshire Council. You will drive earthworks, drainage and pavement delivery, ensure compliance with NEC4 and SHW standards, and manage risks to keep the programme on track.

The role requires deep highway construction experience, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to quality and safety. 12-month contract on site with stakeholders and supply chain collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering is essential.
• CSCS Manager Card required.
• SMSTS essential.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Minimum 10 years in highways/civil engineering.
• Extensive earthworks, drainage and pavement experience.
• Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts and highway standards.
• Experience leading engineering teams and coordinating multidisciplinary work.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams delivering earthworks, drainage, pavement and related highway works.
• Drive performance on safety, quality, programme and productivity.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, contract requirements and SHW/MCDHW.
• Identify risks and resolve technical issues to protect programme and costs.
• Plan short-term activities and allocate engineering resources.
• Develop and manage ITPs, QC sheets and inspection processes.
• Maintain quality records and as-built information throughout delivery.
• Mentor Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers, promoting ownership and teamwork.
