Job summary

Bristol Brunel Academy in Speedwell, Bristol, is seeking a Pastoral Support Lead to provide proactive, preventative care to students and support achievement and progression. You will lead the pastoral care for a year group with the support of a Pastoral Support Officer, promoting high standards of engagement, behaviour and attitudes while monitoring academic and social development for vulnerable learners.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of current issues relevant to Inclusion and Raising Achievement.
• Understanding of the needs and values of different communities, particularly the academy's cultures.
• Experience in a secondary school or working with young people with SEMH needs.
• Ability to use assessment information on students’ attainment.
• Effective time management, organisation and proactive workload prioritisation.
• Respect for professional expertise of others.
• Emotional resilience to handle difficult situations.
