Job summary

Monkton Wood Academy in Taunton seeks a Pastoral Support Lead to foster identity and community, providing a high level of care to all students. The role focuses on safeguarding wellbeing and ensuring students feel valued and supported to progress in their education.

You will promote engagement, behaviour and attitudes, monitor academic and social development, and intervene to support vulnerable learners, in a term-time focused environment with inset days.

Qualifications

• Understanding of inclusion and raising achievement.
• Understanding of the needs and values of different communities served by the academy.
• Experience in a secondary school or with young people with SEMH needs.
• Ability to make effective use of assessment information on attainment.
• Ability to manage time effectively, organise and prioritise workloads and work proactively.

Responsibilities

• Promote high standards of engagement, behaviour, conduct and attitudes in all students in the group.
• Monitor and support academic and social development across the group.
• Undertake interventions to support the most vulnerable learners.
• Work proactively to ensure objectives are fulfilled.
