Job summary

University of Buckingham is seeking an experienced Student Counsellor for on-site work at Buckingham campus. You will provide ethical, time-limited counselling to students, assess needs, and contribute to wellbeing provision.

Working with the Wellbeing Hub, you will manage your own caseload, offer face-to-face and online sessions, and collaborate with colleagues to promote mental health and early intervention. The role requires safeguarding awareness and professional registration.

Qualifications

• Relevant counselling qualification with Level 4 CPCAB or equivalent.
• Registered or member of a recognised professional counselling body such as BACP or NCPS.
• Experience managing a varied caseload with strong assessment and active listening.

Responsibilities

• Provide ethical, time-limited counselling to students.
• Assess students' needs and deliver therapeutic interventions.
• Manage a caseload and offer face-to-face and online counselling.
• Refer to further support or external agencies when required.
