Job summary

Retford Oaks Academy is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support member to join a proactive team supporting students and staff. The role focuses on behavioural support, pupil welfare and admin tasks to aid student progress in school and the community.

The successful candidate will work 30 hours per week during term time, with an actual salary of £19,183.15. GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above are essential, along with experience of working with young people and a commitment to equality of

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at C (or above) Grade (or equivalent).
• Relevant and recent experience of working with young people.
• A thorough and practical understanding of issues related to improving students’ progress and ensuring equality of opportunity both in and out of the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Establish a supportive relationship with assigned children and their parents to promote engagement and independent learning.
• Supervise students who have very challenging behaviour.
• Monitor the impact on student progress of intervention strategies used and to identify ways of developing practice.
• Keep teaching staff and Pastoral Leaders fully informed of any issue.
• Liaise between teachers, faculties and the Inclusion Team to share good practice and support literacy and numeracy development.

Education

GCSE English and Maths C or above

Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Supporting Teaching and Learning Qualification
