Job summary

Eden Brown Synergy is recruiting for a Pastoral Mentor in West Yorkshire on a full-time temporary basis. You will support a caseload of learners, delivering one-to-one mentoring and targeted interventions to boost attendance, wellbeing and academic success.

The role requires safeguarding knowledge, experience with disengaged learners, and DBS clearance. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm (Fridays finish at 4:00pm).

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people aged 14-19 in education, youth work or support settings.
• Proven ability to deliver one-to-one mentoring and pastoral support.
• Solid safeguarding knowledge and focus on student wellbeing.
• Experience engaging with vulnerable, disengaged or hard-to-reach learners.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with students and staff.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• DBS clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support and mentoring to a caseload of students across the college.
• Deliver targeted interventions to improve attendance and engagement.
• Support students to overcome barriers to learning and progression.
• Monitor progress and contribute to review processes.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and make referrals as needed.
• Attend multi-agency meetings and liaise with parents and external services.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes.
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and personal development.
