Job summary

Lift Maltings is seeking a committed pastoral leader to support attendance, wellbeing and belonging for all students at our 11–16 school in Witham.

You will work with students, families and external agencies to promote positive attendance, coordinate wellbeing support and help shape a caring, ambitious ethos across the school. Experience in education and knowledge of attendance legislation would be valuable.

Qualifications

• GCSE maths and English at grade 4 or equivalent.
• Experience motivating young people and promoting high expectations.
• Ability to use data to spot patterns, track progress and guide decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support to students, including those in at-risk groups, as a key contact.
• Work with attendance officer to create and review attendance plans and guide interventions.
• Meet with families and external agencies to address barriers to attendance and support reintegration after suspensions.
• Manage attendance systems, ensuring registers are completed on time and coding is clear.
• Collaborate with safeguarding team and mental health lead to identify vulnerable students.
• Represent the school at inter-agency meetings and inform senior leaders of outcomes.
