Job summary

University of Exeter seeks a Pastoral Mentor to safeguard and enhance the student experience within the Finance and Accounting department, and across Business School teams. The role focuses on identifying and triaging student difficulties, delivering pastoral support and developing materials for student assistance.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with students in HE or FE settings is essential
• Ability to act as the core link between academic disciplines and student support services
• DBS check required and safeguarding commitment

Responsibilities

• Identify and triage students experiencing difficulties affecting study success
• Promote an inclusive, supportive academic community for students in Finance and Accounting and other departments
• Support design, development and delivery of learning support materials
• Collaborate with Directors of Education and Senior Tutor to ensure proactive pastoral support
• Advise colleagues on pastoral matters within Economics and related departments
• Use data to identify students needing support
