Job summary

Ribbons & Reeves are seeking a Welfare Lead for a busy secondary school in Pimlico, Westminster. The role leads the school’s welfare and medical provision and serves as the main point of contact for student medical needs, providing first aid and daily medical support.

Ideal candidates will be calm, well-organised and able to maintain medical records, key safeguarding records and confidentiality in line with GDPR.

Qualifications

• Experience providing first aid, welfare or medical support.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• Comfortable supporting students with complex medical needs.
• Catheter care experience is desirable, but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead the school’s welfare and medical provision.
• Act as the main point of contact for student medical needs.
• Provide first aid, welfare and day-to-day medical support.
• Manage the medical room, medication records and medical supplies.
• Support students with ongoing, complex or long-term medical needs.
• Lead on Individual Healthcare Plans and medical documentation.
• Provide intimate care and catheter care where trained and required.
• Work closely with the DSL, SENDCo, pastoral team, parents and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with safeguarding and GDPR.
