Job summary

Rainhill High School invites applications for a Medical Welfare Officer to lead and coordinate the day-to-day medical welfare and first aid provision for students and staff. You will be the main point of contact for medical needs, ensuring safe and compassionate support throughout the school day and maintaining accurate health records.

The role requires experience in first aid with children, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure while making sound decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience of providing first aid and working with children or young people with complex or ongoing medical conditions.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills; ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day medical welfare and first aid provision at the school.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure health needs do not hinder attendance or participation.
• Coordinate Individual Healthcare Plans and medication systems; work with parents, staff and healthcare professionals.
• Monitor first aid attendance patterns and collaborate with pastoral, attendance, SEND and safeguarding teams.
