Job summary

The Leys College is seeking a Student Welfare Coordinator to join the Lifeskills team, supporting learners in 16-19 programmes with high needs and care requirements. You will ensure wellbeing, retention and achievement through high-quality pastoral support in a compassionate, proactive environment.

You will collaborate with College services, deliver 1:1 and group wellbeing sessions, and contribute to safeguarding for all learners.

Qualifications

• GCSE English & Maths at grade C or above.
• Experience in a welfare or social care role.
• Safeguarding knowledge/experience.
• Experience with learners including MLD, PMLD and SEMH.
• Experience of multi-agency working.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral and welfare support to students in the Lifeskills Faculty.
• Promote learner retention, achievement, and progression.
• Deliver 1:1 and group wellbeing sessions.
• Support smooth transitions into Lifeskills programmes.
• Work collaboratively with faculty teams and wider College services.
• Contribute to multi-agency support for learners.
• Develop creative strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Ensure safeguarding and student welfare at all times.
