You will collaborate with College services, deliver 1:1 and group wellbeing sessions, and contribute to safeguarding for all learners.
About the RoleThe Leys College is seeking an experienced and dedicated Student Welfare Coordinator to join our Lifeskills team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting students receiving Additional Learning Support, including those within our 16-19 programmes. The successful candidate will help ensure student retention, wellbeing, and achievement by providing high-quality pastoral support. You will work closely with learners with High Needs and other care requirements, ensuring appropriate support strategies are in place to enable them to thrive academically and personally. This role requires a compassionate, proactive professional who can create a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental environment where students feel confident accessing support.
A minimum GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above is essential, along with an understanding of the need for a student-centred approach and ability to offer varying support strategies to cover diverse learning needs. Proven experience in a welfare or social care role and safeguarding knowledge/experience. You will have excellent understanding/experience working with a range of learners including: MLD, PMLD and SEMH. You will also have experience of multi-agency working. You will become part of a dedicated and passionate team committed to making a meaningful difference to High Needs learners.
