The Global Student Recruitment and Admissions directorate delivers marketing, student recruitment and admissions services in partnership with Faculties, creating strategies to attract growing numbers of students from across global markets, as well as from the UK.

As a directorate we are responsible for the delivery of student recruitment targets, ensuring cohesive recruitment strategies and planning from lead generations and attraction, admissions, through to conversion and enrolment.

About the role

The Student Marketing and Communications team are responsible for ensuring high-quality and impactful communications with prospective students to support the achievement of the university's student recruitment targets. The Student Web Content Manager plays a key role in enhancing the university's online presence and user experience by effectively managing and maintaining the university's website and content. The role will work closely with various departments and colleagues to gather content, oversee the content creation process, and ensuring that the website aligns to the university's branding and communication strategies. The role will manage a team of content officers and coordinate the delivery of effective delivery of engaging, accurate and up-to-date content for communication with prospective students.

This is a full time fixed-term maternity cover opportunity until 30/01/26.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Educated to degree level and/or significant experience in web content management, preferably in higher education.
  2. Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and web analytics tools.
  3. Strong understanding of SEO best practices and web accessibility standards.
  4. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to build, maintain and manage stakeholder relationships.
  5. Ability to analyse and interpret data to make informed decisions/recommendations, produce reports and monitor progress.
  6. Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
  7. Able to work on own initiative with strong project management experience and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Demonstrable ability to lead and manage a team.

Desirable criteria

  1. Experience working within the Higher Education sector.
  2. Understanding of marketing communications channels & how they can be utilised
  3. Ability to work in a team and collaborate on projects
