Herefordshire & Ludlow College is seeking a resilient, passionate student support lead to join the Student Support Team. The role provides care, support and academic assistance for students with special educational needs and disabilities.
You’ll deliver one-to-one and small-group support, work with tutors to ensure inclusive learning, manage a team of Student Support Assistants, and contribute to CPD, safeguarding and college events.
The Student Support Team are expanding, we are looking for a resilient, passionate and motivated person to join our team. The position available will provide care, support and academic assistance for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

In this varied role, you’ll provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to students, both in and out of the classroom. You’ll work closely with tutors and support staff to ensure inclusive learning for students with additional needs, including those with EHCPs. You’ll play a key role in supporting student transitions, and medication prompts where necessary.
The role also includes line management of a team of Student Support Assistants (SSAs), overseeing their development, inductions, and quality of support through learning walks and regular reviews. Administrative responsibilities such as reviewing support logs, organising and completing learning walks and holding appraisals are essential, as is your contribution to CPD, safeguarding, and college open events.
