Job summary

Haringey Sixth Form College invites applications for Learning Support Assistants to join our exceptional High Needs team within a specialist SEND provision. The college supports 16-19-year-olds and 16-25s in our complex needs services, with a focus on independence, employment and community participation.

Responsibilities

• Support students with core skills including literacy, numeracy, self-advocacy, independence and communication.
• Assist with personal care, moving and handling, medical routines under guidance from professionals.
• Build strong relationships with students, families and colleagues.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support learning and well-being.
• Training provided for moving and handling, hoist use and related tasks.

Haringey 6th Form College's mainstream ('cross college' provision) supports young people aged 16- 19 and Learning for Life (our special provision for complex needs) supports young people from 16-25. The role may involve supporting students with:

Full training will be provided where required, including moving and handling, hoist training, feeding support and personal care.
