Job summary

City of Glasgow College is seeking a Care Assistant to provide supervision and support to students arriving and leaving the College, including breaks and lunchtimes. You will assist teaching staff with resources and help maintain a clean, safe teaching environment.

The role emphasizes developing independent living skills, promoting positive social attitudes, and supporting students in line with Personal Learning Plans. PVG disclosure is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is essential.
• Experience working with individuals and groups with additional support needs is desirable.
• Ability to communicate within a diverse team.
• Experience with low arousal techniques and handling challenging behaviour is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support to students arriving and leaving the College during breaks and lunchtimes.
• Assist lecturing staff with resources and resource preparation.
• Maintain clean and healthy teaching environments.
• Assist lecturing staff during excursions and outings.
• Encourage development of independent living skills and promote acceptable social attitudes.
• Communicate issues and support students per Personal Learning Plans/Guidance folders.
