Job summary

Outwood Academy Ormesby is seeking a Learning Manager to champion student welfare, intervention, and data-driven monitoring. You will focus on removing barriers to learning and supporting complex student cases in collaboration with external agencies.

You will monitor year groups using MIS and data tools, act as a first contact for behaviour incidents, and coordinate with parents, staff and partners to safeguard pupils and promote attendance and readiness to learn.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a school environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency with standard ICT packages, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience liaising with external agencies that support vulnerable students is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student welfare and intervene using data to identify concerns.
• Act as first point of contact for behaviour incidents and support consequences.
• Contact parents about exclusions and support readmission meetings.
• Liaise with external agencies; chair Children in Need and Team Around the Child meetings.
• Coordinate year group logistics such as vaccinations, photographs, and attendance checks.
• Support the Education Welfare Officer with truancy sweeps.
