Job summary

Study Group is seeking a Progression & Transition Coach at Royal Holloway International Study Centre to support student progression through face-to-face and online delivery, including academic success tutorials and 1:1 guidance.

You will work with the Senior Progression & Transition Coordinator and the academic team to monitor student achievements, implement timely interventions, track records, and help learners prepare for their transition to the Royal Holloway University of London.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience to demonstrate ability to work and think independently and support students in an educational context.
• Experience of organising trips and visits including completing necessary risk assessments.
• Experience of creating engaging content and delivering workshops or similar.
• Experience of working collaboratively with external partners to facilitate activities and engagement.
• Experience of facilitating the ‘student voice’ including demonstrating the use of effective feedback mechanisms.
• Working in a regulated environment and following safeguarding processes.
• Working in customer facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as a personal tutor to deliver Academic Success tutorials and provide 1:1 personal development, academic and progression counselling.
• Collaborate to design learning materials around study skills, welfare topics and employability for Academic Success tutorials.
• Update and maintain the virtual learning environment (VLE) and embed alternative digital learning technologies.
• Put interventions in place in relation to attendance per policy and maintain records.
• Track student performance and coordinate with the Senior Coordinator and academic team on interventions.
• Monitor, track and provide reports on student destination offers and refer to the Extended Progression Team.
• Track VLE analytics and gather data on work completion to identify gaps and actions.
• Support students in active wellbeing and liaise with the Student Wellbeing Team.
• Ensure student records are up to date and accurate.
• Support the organisation and delivery of wellbeing, enrichment, transition events.
• Provide general administration support for the centre and cover duties when necessary.
