Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd in the West Midlands invites applications for a Student Success Support role within a further education provider. This temporary contract role focuses on helping learners stay engaged, overcome barriers and progress through their programmes.

You will work with teaching staff to deliver English, Maths and Functional Skills support, run one-to-one and small-group sessions, and keep accurate records while promoting wellbeing and progression.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering English, Maths and Functional Skills.
• Experience supporting learners in an education setting.
• Enhanced DBS within the last 12 months.
• Two references from previous employers.

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider in a learner-facing support role, helping students stay engaged, overcome barriers and progress through their programmes.

Working alongside teaching staff, you'll provide practical, day-to-day support that keeps learners on track and builds their confidence.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Helping students to engage with their programme and make progress towards their goals.
• Working closely with teaching staff to put support strategies in place.
• Maintaining accurate records of learner support and progress.
• Supporting learner wellbeing and engagement throughout their studies.

What We're Looking For

• Experience of delivering English, maths and Functional Skills
• Experience of supporting young people or adults in an education setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• An Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months
• Two references from your most recent employers

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience of supporting learners with additional needs
• A relevant qualification in education or learner support
