Job summary

Merton College is seeking a Student Support Adviser to provide comprehensive information, advice and guidance to learners, helping them complete programmes and progress into further education, training or employment.

The role requires a Level 4+ qualification in IAG or a related discipline, proven safeguarding experience in an educational setting, and the ability to deliver 1:1 interventions, risk assessments and workshops.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 4 or above in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) or a related discipline.
• Proven experience working with vulnerable young people and re-engaging disengaged learners.
• Experience delivering 1:1 interventions and producing risk assessments and support plans.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic information, advice and guidance to learners.
• Safeguard students and support their progression.
• Deliver workshops or tutorials to a diverse range of students.
• Travel between Merton College and Carshalton College as required.
• Record service provision using IT systems.
