Job summary

Yeovil College in Mudford invites applications for a Learning Support Practitioner. You will work 35 hours per week, term time only, supporting students one-on-one to help them achieve academic and personal goals.

You will collaborate with educators to promote a positive learning environment, drive the life-skills program, and empower students to manage time, organisation, and communication effectively.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in working with young people with additional needs.
• Level 2 English or Maths (or equivalent) or willingness to achieve.
• Level 3 award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities or willingness to work towards.
• Great communicator who can engage with students.
• Compassionate and respectful of learners' needs.
• Passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

• Support students one-on-one to reach their full potential.
• Collaborate with SEND team and staff to create a supportive learning environment.
• Assist with strategies to promote student success and life skills development.
• Help learners to develop time management, organisation, and study skills.
