Job summary

Keele University Students' Union (Keele SU) is looking for enthusiastic Events Crew to join our student staff for the 2026/2027 year. The role covers event staff, technical support, and running duties across Keele venues, with a focus on hospitality and promotion.

Hours are casual, zero-hour contracts, term-time only. A Keele student in 2026/2027 is required. You’ll gain valuable transferable skills and work within a dynamic campus team.

Qualifications

• Be a Keele student in 2026/2027 and available for term-time events.
• Demonstrate reliable, enthusiastic approach and good communication.
• Willingness to assist with hospitality, promotion, and general duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist Venues management in delivering a programme of events and hospitality.
• Support marketing and promotion of events.
• Provide technical support for load in/out and event setup; manual handling possible.

Responsible to:Senior Operations Manager, Deputy Operations Manager (Venues), Technical Coordinator

Hours: casual,zero hour contract, term-time only

Salary: Grade S1 - £13.45 per hour

Role Summary:

The events team undertake a variety of roles including:

• Event staff – Assisting the Venues management in delivering a comprehensive programme of quality events, delivering hospitality, supporting with student events with the marketing and promotion of events.
• Technical staff – Assisting with the safe load in, set up, delivery and load out of events, involving manual handling, tech support, use of cables and various equipment.
• Other duties include – Promoting our events, posters/promotion around campus, office-based computer work (Office 365, Word & Excel), "running" (assisting with artists and DJ needs on events), working under the direction of the management team involved in all aspects of customer service.
