Job summary

GRAHAM seeks a motivated Student Site Engineer to join the Building Division in the Midlands, UK. This placement offers hands-on site experience, structured training, mentoring and exposure to a range of construction projects.

You will support surveying, setting out, checking drawings, and coordinating with consultants and subcontractors while developing your technical and leadership skills for a future in construction.

Qualifications

• Currently undertaking a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Ability to work with Health & Safety practices and site procedures.
• Full UK Driving License required or eligible to obtain one.
• Strong IT skills desirable (MS Office, basic software).
• Experience in construction environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
• Undertake surveying and setting out duties.
• Check drawings and quantities.
• Assist in scheduling of materials.
• Plan the work and efficiently organise site operations to meet deadlines.
• Liaise with consultants and subcontractors as necessary.
• Ensure quality records are maintained.
• Resolve technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
• Arrange testing of materials and calibration of instruments.
• Interact with site team and other department managers.
• Identify improvements and innovations for areas of responsibility.
