Job summary

GRAHAM is seeking a Student Site Engineer for its Building Division in London. This industrial placement offers hands-on experience, mentoring, and exposure to a range of construction projects, with training to support your professional development.

You'll apply your civil engineering knowledge on site, learning safety standards, surveying, and project coordination. The placement can last 3–12 months depending on your curriculum, with potential for early start where possible.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Strong IT skills and reliability.
• Understanding of health and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Previous construction industry exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to
• Undertake surveying and setting out duties
• Check drawings and quantities
• Assist in scheduling of materials
• Plan the work and organise site operations to meet deadlines
• Liaise with consultants and subcontractors as necessary
• Ensure quality records to meet requirements are maintained
• Resolve technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
• Arrange testing of materials
• Interact with other site team members
• Liaise with other department managers
• Introduce improvements and innovations where appropriate
• Other duties as required by the Site Manager to facilitate construction of the works
