Job summary

The Manchester College, part of the LTE Group, is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Practitioner to protect and empower students across the City Campus Manchester. You will collaborate with staff and external agencies to identify, assess, and respond to safeguarding concerns in a busy further education setting.

This permanent, full-time role offers 35 hours per week, a strong pension, and opportunities to contribute to an inclusive learning environment while supporting vulnerable learners.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Coaching / Mentoring / Teaching or Social/Youth Work.
  • Level 2 English and Maths.
  • Experience with Young People or Vulnerable Adults.
  • Experience of safeguarding and/or welfare support to children, young people or vulnerable adults.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Flexible, creative and solution focussed approach to completing tasks.
  • Empathy with Young People and / or Vulnerable Adults.
  • Awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion principles.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and welfare issues in line with current legislation.
  • Experience of project planning and report writing.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess and respond to safeguarding concerns in collaboration with staff and external agencies.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to safeguarding processes, policy implementation and liaison with external partners.
