Job summary

Cardiff Metropolitan University is replacing its legacy Student Records System with a cloud-based platform to manage the full student lifecycle.

The Data Migration Analyst will drive data profiling, mapping, cleansing and validation, ensuring accurate transfer of records from QLS to the new system ahead of go-live. Collaboration with registry, admissions, academic schools and suppliers will be essential to deliver a clean, reconciled dataset.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management or related discipline (or equivalent).
• Experience with data migration projects.
• Experience with data governance and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Execute data migration activities from legacy to new system.
• Profile source data, map data, and build transformation rules.
• Create data dictionaries, mapping specifications, and cutover runbooks.
• Run migration rehearsals and maintain issue logs with owners and timelines.
• Validate migrated data and support source data cleansing with operational teams.
