Mainstream Secondary Schools
I am recruiting for Student Re-Engagement Mentors to work within mainstream secondary schools across Central and South Bristol, supporting students who may have become disconnected from learning, school routines or their own potential.
These students aren't necessarily lacking ability. Many have simply faced barriers that have impacted their engagement, confidence or motivation. Your role will be to provide the encouragement, consistency and guidance needed to help them rediscover success within education.
If you're someone who believes every young person deserves a fresh start and can build relationships with students who may be difficult to engage, this could be the perfect role for you.
Success in this role comes from patience, consistency and the ability to see the strengths in a young person, even when they struggle to see them themselves.
Excellent relationship-builders
Positive, patient and resilient
Comfortable supporting young people with a range of needs
Confident working with challenging or disengaged students
Reliable and committed to making a difference
Strong communicators with a calm and encouraging approach
Passionate about helping young people achieve success
Able to balance support with clear expectations and boundaries
If you're passionate about helping young people overcome barriers and reconnect with education, I'd love to hear from you.
