Job summary

The Supply Register is partnering with Tyne Coast College Group to recruit a dedicated Progression Mentor. This temporary role (initially until 31 October) offers 35 hours per week and a daily rate of pay, with a strong likelihood of extension beyond the initial period.

You will support learners to overcome barriers to education, focusing on attendance, wellbeing and progression, and work with safeguarding and inclusion teams to ensure positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience with young people or vulnerable learners.
• Good understanding of mental health, wellbeing and safeguarding needs.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confident delivering workshops and presentations to groups.
• Able to manage a varied caseload and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with learners and identify barriers to attendance and achievement.
• Develop and deliver personalised support and intervention plans.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality and academic progress with early interventions.
• Plan wellbeing, resilience, emotional literacy and personal development sessions.
• Coordinate EDIB activities and wellbeing interventions.
• Liaise with safeguarding and inclusion teams and external agencies.
• Attend meetings and advocate for learners' progression and reintegration.
• Maintain confidential records and contribute to reporting and service evaluation.
