Job summary

One Sixth Form College seeks a Personal Progress Tutor to provide high-quality academic and pastoral support to a defined student cohort across college departments. You will monitor progress, carry out Personal Development Reviews, and plan weekly Tutorial/PHSE sessions that develop students' personal, social and employability skills while preparing them for next steps.

Qualifications

Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential.
Ability to work with students, families, teaching staff and support teams.
Experience in pastoral support and safeguarding is expected.

Responsibilities

Monitor academic progress and engagement of a defined student cohort.
Plan and facilitate an engaging tutorial programme and weekly Tutorial/PHSE sessions.
Carry out Personal Development Reviews and monitor attendance and engagement.
Provide targeted support and intervention to address barriers to achievement and progression.
Support students to set and review SMART targets and develop employability skills.
Identify safeguarding and wellbeing concerns and refer to relevant services when needed.
Build positive relationships and ensure timely support and appropriate intervention.
