Job summary

Skipton Girls’ High School is seeking a dedicated Student Progress Assistant to support behavioural learning and academic progress, with a focus on the sixth form but working across the age range as needed.

The role is 37 hours per week, term time only plus 1 week, with duties including SENCo support, celebrating learner achievements, supervising students in the absence of their teachers, and coordinating with parents, staff and external agencies.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with young people or within a school setting.
  • Counselling skills or SEND experience would be an advantage.
  • Evidence of administration and IT skills in a school context.

  • Supporting the school in celebrating the achievements of all our learners
  • Supervising students in the absence of their normal teacher
  • Liaising between parents, students, staff and outside agencies

Salary: Band E, Points 6 to 9 £26,847 - £28153 FTE (Actual Salary £23,016 - £24,135)

Hours of Work: 37 hours per week, term time only plus 1 week
Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 4:30pm & Friday8:30am – 4:00pm

Weare seeking to appoint a dynamic and dedicated Student Progress Assistant witha genuine interest in supporting young people to achieve high standards inbehaviour for learning, academic progress and achievement. The majority of the role focuses on sixth form, but the successful candidate will be expected to work across the age range as required.

Key responsibilitieswill include:
  • Supporting the work ofthe SENCo
  • Supporting the school in celebrating the achievements of all ourlearners
  • Supervising students in the absence of their normal teacher
  • Liaisingbetween parents, students, staff and outside agencies
  • Supporting students wellbeing and mental health

StudentProgress Assistants work as part of a team which is led by the Student ProgressDirector: Student Progress Experience of working with young people or within aschool setting, counselling skills or SEND experience would be an advantage.Appropriate training and support will be available.
