Job summary

Skipton Girls' High School is seeking a dynamic Student Progress Assistant to support behaviour for learning, academic progress and achievement. The role mainly serves the sixth form but covers all ages as needed.

Key duties include SENCo support, celebrating learner achievements, supervising pupils, liaising with parents and agencies, and promoting student wellbeing. DBS required; term-time plus 1 week and 37 hours weekly.

Qualifications

  • Evidence of 5 or more GCSEs, including English and Maths.
  • Experience of working with young people.
  • Ability to work in a team and collaboratively.
  • Experience organising and administering in a children’s/office environment.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities, youth/voluntary work in schools.
  • Ability to support students experiencing emotional difficulties.
  • Experience of Admin work including filing, phone calls, confidential records, and IT for pupil administration and tracking performance.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the work of the SENCo.
  • Celebrating achievements of all learners.
  • Supervising students in the absence of their normal teacher.
  • Liaising between parents, students, staff and outside agencies.
  • Supporting students’ wellbeing and mental health.
