Job Description

We are seeking an undergraduate student for a Year in Industry placement within the Chemical Engineering Department at our major chemicals manufacturing site in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The 12-month placement will start in Summer 2025.

The successful candidate will support chemical manufacturing operations alongside operations and project teams. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in chemical production activities within a supportive and innovative environment.

Your practical skills will be developed and applied, complementing your university studies. The engineering tasks will include technical troubleshooting, monitoring plant trials, assisting with projects, and updating operational documentation such as instructions and engineering drawings.

Applicants must be studying for a Chemical Engineering Degree, aiming for either a 1st class or upper second class honours.

Strong communication skills, the ability to work independently or in a team, analytical thinking, and attention to detail are essential. Candidates should be proactive, self-motivated, and able to use their initiative. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required for report writing and presentations.
