Job Description
We are seeking an undergraduate student for a Year in Industry placement within the Chemical Engineering Department at our major chemicals manufacturing site in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The 12-month placement will begin in Summer 2025.
The successful candidate will support chemical manufacturing activities alongside operations and project teams. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in chemical production within a supportive and innovative environment.
The role involves applying and developing practical skills, including troubleshooting plant issues, monitoring trials, assisting with projects, and updating documentation such as operating instructions and engineering drawings.
Applicants must be studying for a Chemical Engineering Degree and aim for a 1st class or upper second class honours.
Key skills required include good communication, the ability to work independently and in teams, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail. Candidates should be proactive, self-motivated, and capable of using their initiative. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is necessary for report writing and presentations.
