Job summary

University of the Built Environment is seeking a motivated Student Outreach Officer to widen participation, drive social mobility, and support inclusive access to higher education. You will design, coordinate and deliver outreach activities that encourage learners from all backgrounds to explore higher education and careers in the built environment sector.

This is a part-time role (17.5 hrs/wk), split between Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) and home, with a salary of £12,000–£13,000 p.a.

Qualifications

• Experience working with schools, colleges, young people or community organisations.
• Experience monitoring activities and maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to engage and motivate young people from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and deliver a range of outreach activities.
• Support the recruitment, training, supervision and development of Student Ambassadors involved in outreach activities.
• Ensure appropriate risk assessments are undertaken for outreach activities.
• Use insight and evaluation findings to inform future programme development and continuous improvement.
