Job summary

University of the Built Environment in Reading invites applications for a Careers and Employability role to drive activities that help students and graduates achieve work and study success. You will work across Careers and Widening Participation, delivering mentoring, alumni engagement, and live/virtual events within the built environment sector.

The role includes mentoring programme oversight, supporting student success initiatives, and liaising with internal teams to ensure effective outcomes,

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English language Grade C or 4 or above (E, A).
  • Degree level qualification (E, A).
  • Verbal and written communication skills (E, I).
  • Strong listening skills with a commitment to customer service (E, I).
  • Knowledge of MS Office (E, I).

Responsibilities

  • Review and develop mentoring provision and manage day-to-day mentoring activities.
  • Promote opportunities for alumni; liaise with Marketing for cohesive messaging.
  • Coordinate virtual and in-person events; book speakers and manage travel/logistics.
  • Support student success initiatives and evaluation processes; ensure safeguarding.
  • Undertake training and ensure compliance with safety and safeguarding policies.
