Job summary

The University of the Built Environment is seeking a motivated Student Outreach Officer on a part-time contract to widen participation and support inclusive access to higher education. The role covers outreach activities at Horizons in Reading and working from home, with 17.5 hours per week.

You will design, coordinate and deliver outreach programmes, recruit and train Student Ambassadors, undertake risk assessments and use evaluation to improve future activity. Salary £12,000–£13,000 p.a.

Qualifications

• Experience working with schools, colleges, young people or community organisations
• Experience monitoring activities and maintaining accurate records
• Ability to engage and motivate young people from diverse backgrounds
• Commitment to excellent customer service

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and deliver a range of outreach activities
• Support the recruitment, training, supervision and development of Student Ambassadors involved in outreach activities
• Ensure appropriate risk assessments are undertaken for outreach activities
• Use insight and evaluation findings to inform future programme development and continuous improvement
