Job summary

East Surrey College is seeking a dedicated mentor/support worker to engage with students across the campus and support positive behavioural development. You will work with staff to identify-at-risk learners and deliver targeted mentoring, aiming to improve attendance and learning potential.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of KCSiE and the Prevent Duty, experience with young people, and a collaborative, forward-thinking approach in a fast-paced environment with excellent facilities

Qualifications

• Knowledge of KCSiE (Keeping Children Safe in Education).
• Knowledge of the Prevent Duty.
• Experience with young people displaying challenging behaviour and de-escalation.
• Awareness of issues affecting learners in the current climate.

Responsibilities

• Engage with students around campus to maintain safe, welcoming spaces.
• Identify and support students at risk through mentoring.
• Help students develop action plans to build resilience and skills.
• Contribute to enrichment and attendance improvement.
