Job summary

Adecco is hiring a Maintenance Operative for our student halls in Lancaster. The role focuses on practical, hands-on maintenance to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for residents.

You will perform tasks such as unblocking sinks, replacing light bulbs, assist with routine fire alarm testing, and respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents. The position is a 3-week contract with weekday hours 8:30am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Conduct regular checks on facilities and equipment.
• Assist in maintaining a safe environment by supporting fire alarm testing.
• Keep maintenance records up to date.
