Job summary

New Mills School in the High Peak is recruiting a motivated Student Engagement Mentor to join our 360 Inclusion Team.

You will work directly with students at risk of disengagement, supporting them to engage with lessons and develop positive behaviours, with trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches.

The role is 37 hours per week, term-time only, requiring resilience, strong boundaries and a calm, professional presence to help pupils re-engage and succeed.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of working with young people with SEMH, behavioural, attendance or engagement needs.
• Ability to de-escalate challenging situations while maintaining high expectations.
• Strong professional boundaries and resilience in difficult conversations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of a designated 360 learning space.
• Coordinate personalised support, monitor attendance, behaviour, engagement and wellbeing.
• Oversee reintegration into mainstream lessons with trauma-informed, relationship-based approaches.
