Job summary

North Durham Academy in the North East of England is seeking a Student Engagement Manager to lead the Self-Regulation Room (SRR) and safeguard progress for pupils with behavioural needs and learning difficulties.

You will liaise with Heads of Departments to ensure SRR activities are fit for purpose and support timely reintegration into mainstream lessons, while modelling inclusion and high standards of conduct.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing support for pupils with behaviour and learning difficulties.
• Experience managing truancy and poor attendance.
• Experience working with external agencies to support students and families.
• Ability to reintegrate pupils into mainstream lessons with impact.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with resilience under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage The Self-Regulation Room (SRR) to support behavioural and learning needs.
• Monitor and sanction referrals; assist investigations with senior staff.
• Analyse behaviour referral data weekly and half-termly to identify needs.
• Develop links between pupils, parents and carers to support achievement and behaviour.
• Collaborate with colleagues to involve families and school staff in home/school links.
