Job summary

Teaching Personnel are thrilled to be teaming up with a wonderfully welcoming secondary school in Newport! We’re on the lookout for a passionate Student Engagement Assistant to support students aged 11–16.

Whether it’s helping in the classroom, supporting pupils with additional learning needs, or getting stuck into school life, no two days will be the same! Requirements include Enhanced DBS, EWC registration, Level 2 Safeguarding, 18+ and two references.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people.
• Background in coaching, education, mentoring, support work or youth work.
• Patience, empathy, resilience and a positive attitude.
• A genuine interest in supporting children with additional learning needs.
• Willingness to learn, grow and develop new skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students aged 11–16 in classroom settings.
• Assist pupils with additional learning needs and participate in school life.
• Help create a welcoming, supportive environment for learners.
