Salary Range: Band 4 FTE £30,209 - £33,400. Actual starting salary £25,909 with performance-based yearly increments available.
Working weeks: 39 weeks (Term Time) and Parent/Open evening as required.
Working Hours: 37 hours per week (08:00-16:00 Mon-Thurs and 08:00 – 15:30 Fri).
Our Student Development Champions (SDC's) are non-teaching team members that provide the support to enable our learners to overcome barriers to learning. This is a unique opportunity to join a successful academy as part of a supportive and very hard-working pastoral team.
As an SDC with a remit as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), you will assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in all matters of safeguarding and child protection across the school.
You may take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings, and contribute to the assessment of children. You will advise and support other members of staff on child welfare and child protection matters, and may liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police.

We are an aspirational academy operating across two sites. The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst the Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5. The appointed Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead will initially be based at the Lower Academy.
