As an SDC with a remit as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), you will assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in all matters of safeguarding and child protection across the school.

You may take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings, and contribute to the assessment of children. You will advise and support other members of staff on child welfare and child protection matters, and may liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Excellent record-keeping skills and attention to detail to produce reports, take minutes of meetings, and document safeguarding concerns.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with relevant agencies.
  • Knowledge of legislation and guidance on safeguarding and working with young people, including knowledge of the responsibilities of schools and other agencies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Knowledge of CPOMS is an advantage.

We are an aspirational academy operating across two sites. The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst the Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5. The appointed Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead will initially be based at the Lower Academy.

We are dedicated to supporting staff to build a fulfilling career. As a new member of staff, you will be offered excellent support and development.

If you can engage, motivate and challenge our students to make exceptional progress, then we welcome your application. Please download and complete our application form and return it to our Recruitment & Cover Coordinator, Olivia Faustino.
