1x Term Time Only (36 hours per week over 40 weeks per year) at Kingston College(Full Time all year round will also be considered, if desired)

South Thames Colleges Group is seeking Student Community Officers to support and further develop our students by promoting good behaviour, College community responsibilities and positive engagement.

Youll play a pivotal role in providing a positive ethos within the College community, encompassing enrichment and the wider holistic Student Services on offer. Youll provide an engaging, welcoming onsite presence during the College day, signposting enrichment and promoting positive attitudes, inclusivity and behaviour and provide an early intervention support strategy for identified students at risk.

Wed like you to have experience of working with young people in a school or College setting with an understanding of issues that may affect a students ability to attend College and comply with appropriate standards of behaviour as set out in Group Policy. Able to establish positive and effective relationships with young people whilst maintaining appropriate personal boundaries, youll have the knowledge and experience of Behaviour Management Techniques and behaviour interventions and of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.

Youll have experience of IT and online administration systems with experience of working with student records or similar data management systems. With a high level of interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with students, internal and external partners, youll have strong communication skills, including advisory and persuasive skills, able to converse easily using English Language as the medium.

Subject to a cost of living review from 1 August, the successful candidate will be eligible for any subsequent increase in salary.

The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 27 days plus up to 8 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees physical and mental health. There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme.(This package is pro rata for part time staff)
